News:NIFAAS Co-hosts Feed the Future Team on Developing Local Extension Capacity in Nigeria

The Nigerian Forum for Agricultural Advisory Services (NIFAAS) has co-hosted the Interactive session of a team of Feed the Future Developing Local Extension Capacity to Ahmadu Bello University. The co-hosting was with the National Agricultural Extension and Research Liaison Services (NAERLS), Zaria. The session, which lasted about three hours on 18 January 2017, was held at the Conference Hall of NAERLS and was attended by the entire ABU Agricultural Complex. The Feed the Future Team was led by Ms Christine, former Executive Director of GFRAS. During the interactive session with extension professionals from both the public and private sectors, the visiting team noted that NIFAAS is positioned to deliver the needed change in the Nigerian agricultural extension system. The former GFRAS Director said that no other extension body has the capacity to bring together both public and private extension service providers, as well as farmers groups and other stakeholders as NIFAAS. She stated it while fielding questions from participants on how best to move the nation’s extension service forward
