Based on local setting,most women are/were housewives so having knowlege that chicken is very tasty would risk poultry farming at their homes.

Haaa! You know the long held beliefs and cultural norms require alot of time to be changed. It was believed that the women's eating of the chicken would result in women giving birth to children with beaked mouths. This with time and facts has showed that it is not true but requires alot of sensitization as well as sharing the benefits of women's eating of chicken and eggs. Which we all know will translate into higher productivity of that particular enterprise (poultry) because the enterprise will be enhanced and the benefits shared by the entire family. Especially realizing that the women are the ones who ensure that the hens are fed, healthyeetc
